So I was just enjoying my dandy little day, sitting here on my computer, until my dad decides to go outside to have a smoke. This is normal, but what I wasn’t expecting as for him to come back in 2 seconds yelling “THAT’S A BIG BUG”

Now, I thought he was just exaggerating, since you know how people are with bugs bigger than half an inch. I asked him if I can see it, and he just lowers his hand, so I just think “Oh, he must’ve caught it, that was fast.” and he opens his hand and it’s just

THEY’RE A GOOD 2-3 INCHES LONG, AND I LIVE IN COLORADO, MOTHS THIS BIG AREN’T NORMAL SO I’M JUST LIKE “HOLY SHIT”, they’re dead though, unfortunately. Honestly, bugs don’t scare me all that much, rather, seeing this was just fascinating to me.

Here they are with their wingspan as open as I could get it without fucking the corpse up. I have never been out of America, so this is the biggest moth I’ve seen in person. I tell ya, when you see these things physically, they seem so much bigger than they do in pictures..
